BENEFITS OF SINGING!
You already know that we love singing in our English class. Not only is a great way for our students to learn new vocabulary and grammar structures, but also there are many other benefits… And it’s not just me who thinks so.
Look at this MAGAZINE ARTICLE ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF SINGING IN THE ENGLISH CLASS by Joan Khan Shin. I totally agree.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF SINGING
For me, when we are all togheter in class (a group of 25 children) the most important benefit is the following one: It creates a good work atmosphere changing the students MOOD and also the teacher’s mood, getting ready to work, for instance, at the beginning of the lesson like a warming-up activity. Obviously it is vital to select two or three motivating songs, not very long, appropriated for the pupils’ ages.
So, let’s sing and learn at the same time. And, after school, don’t forget to practise your songs. Can you try learning some of them by heart?? At least your favourite one? Do you understand the lyrics? Find out the meaning of the words.
